Starting to feel like a carnival barker.

I feel like all I do lately is encourage folks to buy things, and it's beginning to make me feel dirty. But I'm so in love with our new holiday card design that I can't not share it. What's a girl to do?

AntiCrafters living in the US: If you buy 25 or more Zazzle greeting card, note card, postcard, invitation, or photo card products (from any Zazzle store, not just The AntiCraft), you can get free ground shipping now until December 31st. Enter promo code FREECARDSHIP at checkout to receive the free shipping.

And I can't leave out our other holiday cards.

Speaking of AC t-shirts

C'mon, you know you want one.

If you're going to be in the San Francisco Bay Area the weekend of May 30 and 31, you should come to the Maker Faire, at the San Mateo County Expo Center. And drag your friends of opposite gender along, too. One building has more handcrafty stuff, and the other building has more handbuildy stuff, so there's cool stuff for everyone to check out.

I'll be wandering around there, with a friend with a video camera in tow, probably on the 31st. I'll be wearing my AC shirt and carrying a swag bag, so look for me. If you bring a Sharpie with you, I'll even autograph body parts. ;D

See you at the Faire!

An Insane Society

My friend Todd shared an article with me that spoke to me on several levels. The following quote sums up a lot of why I wanted to help start something like The AntiCraft:
Human beings are every day and in numerous ways psychologically, socially, and spiritually assaulted by a culture which:

* creates increasing material expectations
* devalues human connectedness
* socializes people to be self-absorbed
* obliterates self-reliance
* alienates people from normal human emotional reactions
* sells false hope that creates more pain
You can read the entire article Fundamentalist Consumerism and an Insane Society by Bruce E. Levine here.
