For a smaller bag (swatch this to be sure of your finished size), use smaller needles and/or finer yarn, depending on how much smaller you want it to be.

When I did my editing pass on this, I used fabric instead of leather.  I added grommets to stabilize the holes, though some fabric (terrycloth, notably) doesn't really need that sort of stabilization.  It slowed me down a bit on that row, but it worked.

I never finished it, I just did enough to see how things worked and to make sure the pattern was doable as written.  It's really great to see someone did it!!  I love this pattern.

...and if you scroll down all the way to the bottom of the project, the designer's contact info is always posted. You probably don't need it now, but knowing this may come in handy in the future.

Congrats on your wedding! Many blessings. What a great day to celebrate your union!

I mentioned your ideas in tonight's AC meeting, and I am happy to report that all were interested in what you come up with when you do this, and Zabet was delighted that you decided to push the envelope, as it were.

Do it.  Post pics.  Dare to boldly create.  Enrich our lives.  :-D

Well, sorta.  When I clicked on the link to this topic from the "Unread Posts" list, I got right in.  However, when I tried to get in to see it from the main menu and clicked on the "Projects from the Online Zine -- PUBLIC", my browser (Firefox) "worked" but never opened the page.

THANK YOU, melharter11!!  That's very helpful.  I am a big safety advocate.  Anything can be made safer by following instructions and taking all cautions seriously.

Yeah, that would be OH, right here in Cleveland.  I think the last time it happened was sometime in the early 70s, but it happened a bunch of times.  Stupid steel mills dumped all sorts of crud in the river, and sometimes it would just spontaneously combust.

Made for easy suicides, though.  No one would try to save you if you jumped, and everyone knew the intent if they saw someone go in.

Great song by R.E.M., too.

The river's much cleaner now.  There are fish in it again, and it's particularly popular with trout fishers.  I have a bunch of friends who are members of the Western Reserve Rowing Association (http://www.wrra.cc/news.php), and they row on the Cuyahoga.  They say it's not much fun to capsize, but it's mostly because the water's cold and really deep, not because of pollution.

Still, we get our water from Lake Erie, not the river.
