Feckin' Batty

Trying out the batshawl, and running into issues....Quick question before I end up battier than the shawl: For chart A, is there an additional 3 sts and yo before the chart starts? Or is the 3 edge sts shown in the chart all that's meant to be done? "Cause I keep ending up with the wrong amount of stitches when I get to the diamond motif....
In come the blackbirds in murders and in droves
to cover you in shadow as they clean you to the bone
And here I come, a firebird
Don't offer up your sorrow
Today you see me crash and burn but I'll be back tomorrow

Contact info for the designer is at the bottom of the project page.
I have friends in medieval places.  A trebuchet can be had.

it's...got issues. I knit one a while back, and it had problems. In stitch count, in the edging, etc.

There is a minor error in row 81, and for just about everyone who has gotten up to the decorative edge, winding up with 341 stitches instead of the stated 355 in pattern. Some of the charts are wrong too.

My post #20 in the "WA na na na na" thread includes my personal erratta for the pattern--some gleaned from Ravelry and the designer, some from my own fiddling.
