I have a friend who keeps her swatches in a notebook along with any design notes or changes to the pattern. It's a really nice notebook.

My swatches are shoved in a pile - I only reuse them if I'm otherwise out of yarn.

I really do admire people who are more organized than I am (almost everyone). Am I willing to go there?  Not really.  I'm required to be ultra organized at work, so at home, for myself, I rebel against it.

well, having it like that means that now we know that you can wear them both ways. versatilityl.

And, versatility definitely makes for a fun garment. :)

My sister has requested these for her chrismas present.

What yarn did you guys/girls that made them use.
I can't find the yarn called for in colors like the picture.

We were discussing what she wanted and she said a pair of fingerless glove so I was showing her all the patterns that I had seen and liked.  Until she saw these she had been saying that she wanted a pair in neutral colors so she could wear them with lots of stuff.  After she saw these she decided that she had lots of stuff in neutral colors and she needed something that was different.  It doesn't hurt that her favorite color is purple.

Any worsted would probably work. I used Lamb's Pride worsted, I believe, in an eggplanty shade the name of which I no longer recall.

I like the Lamb's Pride, I think I use it for presents last year and they have held up well. I'm not sure about using a mohair blend though as I've never finished a project with the stuff, don't like it at all, it doesn't unravel well but I like the shininess it gives the sleeves.

Did you use the elastic for the ribbing at the top?

So I ended up getting two different yarns on is Naturally Merino fine in a plum color the other is called Lustra from Berroco in black oops wrong tag it's actually Kraemer Sterling silk and silver.  It is so cool it has tiny strands of sterling silver in it so these will be sparkly.  They are both super soft.  The Lustra was expensive but I think it will be worth it.  I also got some elastic for the tops.

I was about 8 inches into the pattern and decided I'm not liking the baubles so I ripped back to the start of the arm part and will continue without them.  I was getting a really big hole between the purl stitch and the bauble that was a pain to fix, also the baubles were looking a little too busy.  They seemed to be a lot closer together in real life than in the picture.
