this kid wrote "have an ice summer" in my 8th grade yearbook. i'm still not sure if he was trying to be clever, or if he was just illiterate.

When in doubt, best to assume the worst.

When I was in 9th grade, a guy I had a crush on (who was in 10th or 11th) wrote in mine, "Stay sweat!"

I think he was just illiterate. I stopped having a crush on him.

Beautiful. Now I'm picturing it as "stay sweaty" and wondering what you got up to in high school.

In 9th grade? That would be copious amounts of pathetic nothing, unless you count reading Sweet Valley High books and getting 'saved' because I wanted to fit in. (This was at the missionary baptist school.)

I got better.

the most bizarre thing i got was in my senior year book.

"Stay out of Australia"

i have no idea who the person that wrote it was, or whether it was a warning or a threat.

We should keep in touch!

I'm glad we became friends

I never got to know you very well, but you were always cool!

and then my favorite

Cows go "Moo", ducks go "quack", I'm the first to sign your crack! (you know, the crack in pages?)

"Keep in touch!"

From people who didn't have any intention of...

"To a really sweet girl I wish I had gotten to know better"

This guy wrote "Remember that night at Fat Eddie's House" as a joke. My boyfriend thought I cheated on him. Nice... There wasn't EVEN a fat Eddie.

"Don't change!"

Or how about the really weird one I got once: "Don't forget to change your underwear!" I don't know what she was on, but it must've made her hallucinate.

KIT: Keep in Touch

Everyone always wrote that, but I was the social outcast, so like hell any of us were going to keep in touch.
