Contest!

Ok, who else found this comment by Mr. Wells so very, very inspirational?

"Vlad the Impaler didn’t crotchet his own ear-flapped bobble hats. And neither should you."

Hear ye, hear ye! I hereby challenge all AntiCrafters to create their own Vlad the Impaler hat (with ear flaps and bobbles) in either KNIT or CROCHET (because I don't think Mr. Wells groks the difference between the two). And I don't want to hear any whining about how unfair it is because you can neither knit nor crochet. Suck it up. Sometimes it's not about you.

Submit your Transylvanian tams, cathartic cloches, fiendish fedoras, and sinister skullcaps to submit@theanticraft.com by March 31, 2008, 11:59pm EST and we will select One Hat To Rule Them All. The winner will get a free, autographed copy of our sellout book and their pattern published in the Lughnasadh '08 issue.

I just need to sew buttons onto my Skylla and I'll be done. I bought the book mostly just for that pattern, so I don't care if you "sold out" - bunnies, it's a menstrual cup tote!

Am casting on for earflaps now.

btw, if you haven't already, Shannon's a really good person to talk to about self-pub. I have problems with Lulu; she's got alternatives.
