We've moved over here now. Clicky! I demand that you clicky!

P.S. Olde Larhus, the Imbolc 09 issue, is now up.
I'm really sorry. The issue is DONE. It's READY. I'm so ready to launch it that I could cry. But two very necessary files are on my computer at home because I forgot to upload them late last night, and I can't put the issue up without them. The knife twist comes knowing that I can connect from my home computer TO my office computer, but not vice-versa because our ISP doesn't do static IP addresses. (Translation: were I at home needing these files off THIS computer, no problem. Wah!)
You have no idea how frustrating this is for me (well, maybe you do), to get it done ON TIME and NOT be able to post it!
::stomps feet and gnashes teeth::
I get off work at 5pm but have plans with friends. It will likely not be up until I get home near midnight, my time (EST/-5GMT). I will post it as soon as I can.

Hi everyone - I'm pre-blogging this so that I don't have to miss any New Year's Eve parties or wake up the next morning wondering what I might have drunkenly typed.
So here's the deal: Blah blah blah, we love you, blah blah blah, Happy New Year, but you're not going to see a lot of us over the next week because we are like Satan's Elves the night before Snake Handing Day, i.e., busy as bees or beavers or ants or some other creature of your choice if Satantic Elves are too much for your little brain to wrap itself around. Not that we're actually Satanists. (Heh, tell that to the fundies! I can't tell you how many emails I get with "I found your book in the library/bookstore/trash with a tract/invite to church inside!")
But dizamn, I do digress.
Point being that the site is going to go through some changes, not all of them readily apparent to the naked eye, and there will probably be some fuckups here and there. Be patient with us as we get them all straightened out. And! The Imbolc '09 issue will be available on Wednesday, January 7th. See you then!

I loved You Knit What? but always felt it was too knit-centric for my tastes. Blessed be Sage, who introduced me to Craftastrophy. "These craftastrophes aren’t necessarily bad crafts,1 many are well made and have taken the crafter a lot of time and energy to create; this site’s goal is to showcase those crafts that are funny, weird, strange and make us laugh....We merely want to share the laughs and enjoy the talents of many. Talents which none of us personally have." .:Zabet
1But many of them are.

Share Ross has opened up her own line of Punk Knits merch with these cool skull-topped needles.
Pros: Really cool skulls.
Cons: Only available in a single huge size US 13 (9mm); not sure where/how they're made.

But my friend Janis just told me about these Mach 1 Spinning Wheels from SpinOlution and they seem damn cool. Videos, photos, and vital stats at that link. I like using traditional tools and all, but I also like it when they are upgraded for efficiency and power

I may paraphrase slightly here.
Joss: (about Dr. Horrible) Fact is, there's been some buzz, but it hasn't reached the places it would normally. Where's our write-up in Crocheting Monthly?
Kim Werker: Bring it, muthafucka!

Two more additions to the swagfest:
Seeing as how we really wouldn't be The AntiCraft without the support and brainpower of all of you, we think it's fair to say you are as much a part of The AntiCraft as we are. Wear it proudly:
And I after several months of staring at this issue's cover art, I couldn't help wanting to Yule it up. These cards are a collaboration between Erssie and myself, and are blank inside.

You've been yearning to buy a tshirt, tote bag, or some greeting cards for a few days now, but you just can't justify it, right? Well, today and tomorrow (Dec 3 and 4) you might be able to convince your rational side. Zazzle is having a sale!

...to blow mad cash. Or not. But if you do, please consider supporting your favorite craft zine (no, not www.craftzine.com, damnit, get your ass back here, obviously I mean us and not Craft!) by purchasing any of the following SHINY NEW items (or any of the dull old ones as well).
Please note that if you have trouble with any of the links below you might need to be logged into Zazzle and make sure your Account Settings have your maturity level set to "R" to be able to view or purchase.
Happy shopping!

J'ai reçu l'information suivante: Mo'Fo '09!

I am back from a much-needed vacation (my first in quite some time that was in no way related to The AntiCraft) and will be sorting through emails, etc. over the next few days. If you're waiting to hear for me, I thank you in advance for your patience.

Those of you with a copy of Enchanted Knitting can find some excellent charts on pages 32-33.
Blue Vinyl Fonts has a free Día de Los Muertos font.
And I will admit that I was surprised to find that we haven't had many past projects with skulls or skeletons. Here are the ones I could dig up:
Algomortis: Skull-and-crossbones tea cosy.
Skull Lariat: A... um... lariat. With skulls.
Nuclear Family: Embroidered tea apron.
Bones: Skull-and-crossbones socks. (From the Lost Pages of the book.)

Well, to tide the Potter fanatics over, at least. Opal's HPatHBP sock yarn is finally available. I have to admit, while self-patterning sock yarn getting old, I do like the color combos they have picked for everyone (not necessarily based on House colors -- that's been done to death). My favorites are Ron and Dumbledore.
