Mo'Fo '09!
Pour les adeptes de folk, pop ou rock indé, MoFo revient pour sa septième édition du 29 au 31 janvier 2009 à Mains duvres ! Incontournable, ce festival « underground » loin des grands festivals de lété, réunira à Saint-Ouen des groupes confirmés et émergents dans un lieu atypique.

Espace de découvertes et de créations artistiques, lassociation Mains duvres accueille et diffuse des artistes indépendants, dont certains sont aujourdhui reconnus sur la scène internationale. Le Festival MoFo, initié en 2000 avec Herman Düne, groupe résident depuis louverture du lieu, est un des évènements emblématiques. Véritable succès, les 6 dernières éditions ont drainé un public à chaque fois plus nombreux, dynamique et fidèle.

A laffiche de cette édition: Laetitia Shériff, Françoiz Breut, Malcolm Middleton, The Wave Pictures et surtout la présence exceptionnelle du groupe culte des 60s : The Zombies, absents de la scène française depuis 40 ans !

Cette année, le festival souvre à la présentation de concerts filmés, documentaires, clips ou films autour de la musique et accueille un véritable forum des cultures indépendantes dans le rock, le « MoForum » : labels, webzines, photographes, tables rondes etc...

Pattern-A-Day Call for Submissions

This came across our desk last night and we figured we'd pass it on. Ripley Designs, Inc. (the folks who publish the Pattern-A-Day calendars) are looking for knitting and crochet designs.

We've never worked with these folks, so we can't vouch for them, but are apparently cash prizes to be had. As always, we challenge you to blow their minds and fuck their shit up. Never mind that you don't think anyone is going to want to knit a tumor - submit it anyway! Are we Stepford Crafters or are we AntiCrafters? Chant it with us now!

Help performer Kristina Wong demystify the knitting circle and unravel the deep psyche of the master crafter in her new solo show Wong Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Your donations of unfinished knitting pieces from around the world will be included as part of the set for a live serio-comic exploration of maintaining sanity in times that seem almost fictitious.
